FRONTPAGE
Protest in Hama

Welcome!

Welcome to the WebPaper, part of Rabel Christian Civil Liberties.

The WebPaper brings together articles and news of interest to those who have a concern regarding civil liberties, human rights and issues relating to the seeming development of a globalised governmental and State-sanctioned religious order.
There is an especial focus on the state of civil liberties in the UK.

Big Brother Continues to Grow

Last week the story broke that the Government of the UK was planning on bringing in legislation that would enable the security services, including the police and GCHQ (the national security surveillance centre), to access detailed information of times, dates and participants of all and any internet and mobile phone communications.

News And Articles

The WebPaper carries a variety of articles relating to oppression, persecution and harassment in the political and religious spheres.
News reports come from a careful eye upon the UK papers, the online resources and the blogosphere, and we receive frequent updates some some of the major organisations involved in these areas.

Should Christians Really be Standing up for Their Rights?

Should Christians be concerning themselves with legislating the Christian faith into the legal framework of not just the UK but many other nations, when the majority of the population are not practicing disciples of Jesus Christ?
The idea that the UK and many other European and American nations are somehow “Christian nations” is deeply flawed.

“Christian” Offensiveness and Free Speech

On the 12th April the news broke: a Christian group had booked adverts to be displayed on the side of London’s buses.  Later that day the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, had stepped in and the adverts were cancelled by London Transport.

Make no mistake, the adverts were offensive and quite possibly misleading.  The adverts, declaring “Ex-gay, Post-gay and proud.  Get Over It!”, were not based on any scientific evidence that the promoted reparative therapy to alter sexual-orientation actually works and is not harmful in itself, and the tone of the adverts were such that offence was sure to be taken.

Almost There for Protection of Freedoms Bill

The Protection of Freedoms Bill is now awaiting its third reading in the House of Lords, which will mark the point when it has passed most of the hurdles on its way to becoming law. The Bill includes many measures relating to civil liberties, yet there are some very disappointing omissions in its form.

Contributors Wanted

Writers are wanted for the WebPaper. If you feel that you have a fair talent for writing, are interested in current affairs, and have an especial concern about civil liberties, please do consider contributing.
We are a Christian site, so if you have a Christian belief that is great, but adhering to a different belief system does not mean that we will reject your work. Sympathetic understanding of Christian principles would help, though.

Freedom of Speech Campaign

The Freedom of Speech Campaign has been started by Rabel Christian Civil Liberties.

The new coalition Government of the UK has committed itself to uphold and restore civil liberties in the UK, including scrapping ID Cards, changing the National DNA Database and returning the right to protest.

There is, however, a sad omission when it comes to free speech. Certain views, opinions and words will remain criminal offences.

There is widespread concern over the state of free speech in the UK, and we are continuing to campaign on this issue. Visit Rabel Campaign...

Liberty Articles

The Rabel WebPaper carried numerous opinion pieces under the banner of Liberty Articles.

DNA Image

Past Liberty Articles have included a number on the National DNA Database (NDNAD), the troubles in 2009 in Iran, and many on policing, politics and law and terrorism measures.

Count Your Blessings, and Protect Them

"Count Your Blessings."  It is an age-old cry of fathers, mothers and grandparents to the disaffected and complaining child.  Yet, in modern Britain, can we still manage to count our blessings?

Devotionals

The WebPaper also carries devotionals with the aim of building up Christians to withstand the oppressive and deceptive measures that will be globally orcestrated during the end time period.
